While putting together my kids’ photo albums for last year, I realized that the one glaring gap in their printed memories is me — aside from the usual nap or meal time selfies, I barely exist in photos with my own kids. As their mom, the one who cares for them daily, helps with homework, calms fears and cleans runny noses; as a photographer and the family historian, always beside them with my camera but not in front of it; it is not accurate to document their young lives unless I’m pictured in pages with them. It is for them, to illustrate in photos my unconditional and eternal love, that being in the photos is of utmost necessity.

I know this is a common refrain — so many of us need to be better about getting in the frame. So, mommas, I’m putting together a special package, Motherhood Mini Sessions, to capture and deliver beautiful portraits of you with your little ones.

If you’re unfamiliar with my shooting style, I always photograph traditional portraits but my favorites are the candid, natural shots of you interacting with your children. I love helping with clothing and styling choices, and am the first to suggest flowers, quilts or blankets, and so on to enhance the visual impact of your images. Sessions will be held somewhere in the South Sacramento or Elk Grove area. The last hours of daylight are my sweet spot for photo-taking, so mini sessions will be held during the evening near sunset.
