Sacramento Maternity Session: “Your vibe attracts your tribe.”
I’ve been hearing this phrase a lot lately, and it’s true. When you put yourself out in the world, you’ll click with people who just get you. For photographers, that means getting clients who just get us and our vision.

This phrase rang true when I had W + J as clients for a maternity shoot. When W. contacted me about photographing her pregnancy, she sent me links to photo shoots she loved, styles she wanted for her own session. The shoots were gorgeous, boho-inspired, and fashion-forward. I knew we’d be a good match. When I saw her at her photo shoot in a flowing white dress, I knew I’d be in photographer heaven.
We held W.’s maternity session at Gibson Ranch, where a soft sunset haze shone over the horizon. W. wore a flowing cream-colored dress that flattered her small baby bump. J. was dressed in a chambray shirt –exactly what I dressed my son in for my family’s photo shoot. That’s not the only coincidence, it turns out. J. happens to be in the same profession as my husband and actually found himself working at my husband’s workplace. AND, one of the names on W + J’s list is the name of my oldest daughter.
See? Your vibe attracts your tribe.
W’s second outfit had me asking where it was from and looking up the dress at Urban Outfitters. (Not a typical maternity dress but oh so gorgeous for this!). This is when twilight set in and we embraced the mood of the blue hour. I totally dig this kind of boho, dusty feel.

Did I say how amazing W + J are? After the session and photos were delivered, W submitted them to be featured over at Grey Likes Baby, an on-trend, go-to website for stylish mommas. And guess what? They totally featured this session! I’m still in awe. Check out the post here.
My good luck continued when Tiny Prints picked up one my photos from W + J’s session. It’s featured in their list of 100 Inspiring Maternity Photo Ideas and I couldn’t be happier. Tiny Prints, as everyone knows, is a major online shop for personalized greeting cards. I still remember the first time I discovered their website and spent many a design-nerd moments drooling over their cards. I feel so lucky to have my work over there now.
