I took gorgeous Harlow’s 3 month photos and was thrilled to help her mom plan a Father’s Day surprise when she turned 6 months. Now I don’t know much about cars, but even I knew that this car is a true beauty. It’s been in the family for generations, so photographing Harlow in the car was a very special gift for her daddy. Her mom did an amazing job styling Harlow similar to Rosie the Riveter, complete with a little “Dad” tattoo and tiny sticker earrings. Not to mention the awesome bandana. We drove out to the location in Elk Grove and had the car set up, which was really the hardest part — it turns out that Harlow is a natural born model. (Just say her name. It sounds like a model’s name. <3) All we had to do was sit her down and shoot. 🙂 Harlow’s mom was nearby at all times, so she was safe throughout the shoot. I also used some Photoshop magic to edit the photos in which Harlow’s mom was holding her up. I’m always thinking about safety during photo shoots, especially with newborns, babies and young children! Seriously, isn’t she adorable? This one has to be my very favorite from the whole session. I love love love how she’s “driving” the car with that big grin. Her tenacious mom was crouched behind Harlow to steady and hold her up. It was well worth it for this image.

I think she looks like the cutest bunny here. 🙂 And the car, with that beautiful deep red. It looked stunning in the sunset light. The shop that did the paint job–Steve’s Collision Repair–made this little baby onesie for Harlow. How adorable is that. Here’s an example of a photo that required Photoshop. I took two different shots of Harlow on the car, with her mom on the left side of her in one shot, and the right side in another shot. I merged the photos together to come up with this one.
