The V. family has been with me since the early days of my photography journey. That’s a wonderful part of my job — that I’ve been with the same families who have trusted in me to document their stories for years. I get to see their children grow, into their personalities and through phases of childhood. I wasn’t sure I’d get the chance to photograph the V’s this year since they have moved out of town, but serendipitously they were in town and we scheduled a date.

West 12 Ranch is an outdoor photography studio in Lodi. I love that I can shoot here relatively easily, being so close as a Sacramento photographer. There’s so much variety and the people that run it are always so welcoming and warm. And although the wind was a force to be reckoned with that day, West 12 made for the perfect setting for our shoot. We were also happy to shoot here for a second time together. The first was several years ago when the oldest child was a toddler, and we recreated a shot from that previous session. I’ll have to find it an update this post with a side-by-side.

One more thing before you scroll through this session. The V. family always impresses me with their outfits! The colors, the coordination, different textures. They always look this good.
