Making it through your baby’s first year is a real cause for celebration. What better way to mark this milestone, in my opinion, is a photo session to capture this time. I photographed this lovely girl as a newborn and it was so very nice to see her and how much she’s grown. And just as she was as a newborn, baby M was beautiful and petite. Her little face has such a sweetness to it.
As I do with my baby sessions, I brought wardrobe for the star of the shoot. I typically arrive at in-home photo sessions armed with a trunk of carefully crafted outfits, made by small business owners who specialize in baby photo props. The outfit she has on in this photo is by Little Willow Tree — while this particular vendor is not a photography vendor, her work photographs beautifully. It complements baby M’s skin like a dream.
For baby’s first year portraits, and studio-style portraits, I usually instruct parents to don neutral clothing. This keeps the images classic and timeless. For this session we stepped out into the yard and I still love how their clothing coordinates.
Here are some more photos of the photogenic family.
Of baby and dad…
And mom and baby. 🙂
We ended up heading back inside after taking photos in the backyard. The light shining through the window illuminated the room so perfectly. You’d better believe I was one happy photographer. Just look at the light here. 😀
A close up…
And a detail shot. The little things mommas don’t want to forget.
More family time playing with mom and dad.
I love how this session turned out and I’m so grateful to have photographed this family twice now. To inquire about an in-home session for your family, contact me and we’ll chat. Thanks for looking!
