It’s such a privilege to be a family’s go-to photographer, for their baby yet to be born (maternity pics!), to their baby as a newborn, a 6 month old, and now a 1 year old. His momma and I thought about doing an outdoor cake smash to celebrate Lucas’ upcoming 1 year old milestone. We went to a local park at the golden hour, when the sunset created warm, pretty light across the grass. It was one of the shortest baby milestone sessions I’ve photographed, and we were still able to get a robust gallery. I’m quite amazed myself. 😉 Here are a few that I love.
I’m also really digging this black and white portraits of Baby Lucas.
Oh, and I almost forgot to include the following images in the post. These are some of my favorite! This boy is so sweet and chunky, and oh so smiley for the camera. Doll face over here. 🙂
So onto the cake smashing portion. 🙂 Lucas’ mom has been liking yellow on her son, and she found this perfect little cake stand she is generously giving to me to add to my prop collection. The nice thing about it is that the ribbon can be taken out and replaced with something to match the color scheme of the next cake smash. Pretty cool, huh? The blanket is also from her, which is now mine. 😀 This sweet little peach-honey cake was from the local Bel Air Market.
So what do you do when baby’s not exactly enjoying the cake? Get a little help from mom.
Cake smash photo sessions are some of the funnest ones. If you would like to schedule a cake smash session with me, check out my info page. Although Lucas’ photo session was held outdoors, we can also have a studio-style cake smash. Feel free to contact me with your ideas!
