Photographing through the Seasons

For photographers the busiest time of year is fall. Families are looking to have recent photographs taken for holiday cards. While the crisp autumn light makes for stunning photo shoots, other seasons also offer a beautiful backdrop. Here are some samples from sessions I’ve throughout the year.

Winter

Winter offers a neutral, woodsy palette that makes your family stand out as the center subject. While it can be tricky scheduling a session to avoid the rain and cold, photographs taken during this season can be a cozy alternative to sun filled sessions.

Spring

In spring time the weather warms and recent rains make the landscape lush and green, with flowers in bloom. Spring photo sessions are a dreamy backdrop to feature your family upon.

Summer

Summer sessions exude a warmth and free-spirited vibe. There’s something about the late sunset that casts a romantic glow over photo sessions, which I absolutely love.

Fall

Fall is oh-so-popular for photo shoots! The weather is kind to young families, scarlet and pumpkin colored leaves paint the scenery, and the autumn light illuminates sessions so perfectly — in the morning through afternoon. Fall session slots book fast, so make sure to have your preferred date scheduled early, typically by August for October sessions.

Each season has something unique and lovely to offer. To schedule your photo session, contact me.
