My last session of the 2014 fall/winter season was with this gorgeous family of three. As with all my family sessions, I photographed a mix of traditional portraits, with everyone posed and looking at the camera, and lifestyle photos, in which I capture real moments and connections between family members. Lifestyle photos get me every time. Real smiles and real love, like in this image. <3
And even though those are consistently my favorites, I capture beautiful traditional family portraits as well.
This little girl was a natural model, which worked out perfectly because her parents wanted her to be the star of the show. She had a personality on her, and I love how she let her curiosity of the environment lead our session. (There were deer running this way and that throughout the session. Who wouldn’t be fascinated by that? :)) Here are some photographs of her with mom alone and with dad alone. The hazy light in the mother-daughter portrait is so dreamy to me.
The earthy tones in the teepees are rich and textured, and the nerd in me was excited about how they looked after editing the images with them. 😀
Look at those eyes! So big and bright. Not to mention those curls. Those curls though! 🙂
While we were taking in the surroundings, our little starlet found herself with a leaf to play with. Mom put it in hair and, like that, she had a new accessory to model. 🙂
This photo speaks to me as both a color and a black-and-white image. Whenever I do a black-and-white conversion I provide a color version too. 🙂
If you would like to book a session with me, I would love to talk with you about what your session would look like. Head on over to my contact form, or read more information on the process of booking a session with me.
